Golestan Palace: My Visit to a Beautiful Place in Tehran

Introduction:

Tehran is a busy and modern city, but it has many special places full of history and One of these places is Golestan Palace, a beautiful and old royal complex.

The beginning of my journey:

On a bright morning, I went there to see it for myself, and it felt like stepping into a magical story from the past, so as I walked through the main gate, the colorful tiles on the walls caught my eye. They were decorated with flowers, birds, and beautiful patterns. It felt like the tiles were telling a story from hundreds of years ago and I was excited to see what was waiting for me inside.

What it is it like:

Golestan Palace means “Palace of Flowers,” and the name fits perfectly. The garden was full of fountains, trees, and peaceful spots to sit and relax. I sat on a bench for a while, enjoying the calm. It was hard to believe that just outside the walls, the city was loud and busy.

Shams-ol-Emareh:

The first building I went to was called Shams-ol-Emareh, or the “Edifice of the Sun.” It’s a tall building from the Qajar dynasty, and it was once the tallest in Tehran, so I imagined how the royal family must have loved the view from the top. Even though the city looks very different now, the building still feels special.

Mirror hall:

The next place I visited was the Mirror Hall. It was like stepping into a sparkling dream! The walls and ceiling were covered with tiny mirrors that reflected light everywhere. It felt magical, like the room was glowing. I stood there for a while, imagining the parties and celebrations that must have happened there.

Marble Throne:

I also saw the Marble Throne, a big and beautiful seat made from yellow marble. It is outside in a pavilion, and the carvings on it are amazing. The throne has designs of flowers and mythical creatures, and it was used for important royal ceremonies.

Rest of The Journey:

As I walked through the other halls, I felt like I was learning about Iran’s history in the most fun way. There were so many paintings, old objects, and stunning decorations. Everything in the palace showed how talented the artists and builders were.

Why you should visit:

Before I left, I walked through the garden one last time. It was hard to say goodbye to such a peaceful and beautiful place. Golestan Palace is more than just an old building—it’s a special part of Iran’s history so
if you ever visit Tehran, don’t miss Golestan Palace. It’s a wonderful place where you can learn, relax, and feel like you’re walking through history. It’s a visit I’ll never forget!
